Barossa Vet is proud to offer an emergency service through the day as well as after-hours. We appreciate that some problems are unexpected and do not always happen during regular hours.
These times are often highly stressful and so understanding what service is available and the process for reaching us is important.
Emergencies during regular Trading Hours
Call the clinic and one the customer care team will provide clear and appropriate instructions, including which clinic is best to attend. As soon as you arrive, your pet will be triaged by a vet or senior nurse and treatment will be initiated as soon as possible.
Emergencies After-Hours and Weekends:
Call the clinic on (08 8562 1162) which will divert you to an after-hours prompt menu.
Press 1 - For pets that have a genuine emergency and require treatment by the on-call Veterinarian.
- Please note a minimum call out fee of $275 will apply for veterinary attendance.
- There is an option to receive a telehealth consultation with a reduced cost.
Press 2 - For stray and lost animals to be directed to local council.
Press 3 - For injured wildlife to be directed to Fauna Rescue SA.
(We are not staffed 24 hours per day and cannot accept wildlife or stray dogs after-hours)
If a call out is required, the Veterinarian will organise a time to meet you either on farm or at the clinic for assessment and appropriate treatment plan for your pet.
